The last active member elected to the Taos Society of Artists, Adams was also the youngest by ten years. His Modernist training in France and under well-known Taos Modern painter Andrew Dasburg is reflected in his figure, still life, and landscape paintings. The plunging perspective and sharp diagonals in Lower Hondo, coupled with value relationships and prismatic colors, place him squarely in the Taos Moderns camp.
